JMJ, a trading and manufacturing enterprise, was founded on October 17, 1994 in Kalisz. In the initial period, the company's activity consisted mainly of selling ready-made imported catalysts. Taking into account market forecasts and introduction of new laws concerning exhaust emissions we decided to build a catalyst converter factory. During a period of 17 months a complete modern plant was created and started operation by initially assembling imported ceramic catalyst inserts into casings. That involved the purchase of machines and equipment as well as professional tooling for manufacture of casings and assembly of complete catalyst converters. As a result of starting up an increasing number of different catalyst converters there occurred a growth in demand for monoliths of different sizes which led to substantial financial engagement into inventory of the above mentioned goods. In order to cope with that problem and to reduce prices our company started up production of metal monoliths and implemented the process of wash-coat and active coat (precious metals) application onto ceramic and metal monoliths. This was confirmed by positive results of the tests for effectiveness of exhaust fumes cleaning and for durability. The plant is in possession of processing equipment allowing to keep the processing parameters precisely. The manufacturing process is overseen by in-house laboratory equipped with modern measuring devices. Our plant has high production capacity. In the scope of supplies of components for production we collaborate with renowned companies i.e. CORNING, NGK, JOHNSON MATTHEY, FLUKA, SIGMA-ALDRICH, SUPELCO, MENNINCA PAŃSTWOWA, CARBORUNDUM, 3M, SANDVIK, THYSSEN-KRUPP, UGINE. In 2003, we implemented ISO 9001:2000 quality standards. In 2004, we made a large investment in state-of-the-art machinery stock for production of elastic joints. In the beginning of 2005, we obtained the 103R European certificate of approval for catalyst converters. We are the leading manufacturer of catalytic converters in the Polish market. Our key products are catalytic converters for diesel and gasoline engines. From the very beginning of our activity, we have been focusing on increasing the quality of our products and expanding our offer, which has enabled us to strengthen the export sector of our sales. Apart from catalytic converters, we manufacture elastic joints (pulsation dampeners) and we have managed to build our significant position in this market segment as well. Our catalytic converters and elastic joints are exported to many countries in Europe and rest of the world. Our product range includes also power tunes (fume accelerators) and exhaust silencers. Catalyst converters
We manufacture catalyst converters for spark ignition and automatic ignition engines and 100cpsi sport catalysts.
Our catalyst converters are available in three types:
Factors causing damage of a catalyst converter Not only the thermal process of ageing but also the using up of an engine and its parts are responsible for the decreasing efficiency of a catalyst converter. Utilization failures of a car may very quickly result in serious breakdowns which take place mainly in a catalytic converter but are detected only during the exhaust fumes test. Influence of contamination and the process of ageing There are two main factors that have an influence on worsening the reaction of conversion. The first factor is a chemical contamination of a noble metal of a catalyst character due to fuel contamination with lead, magnesium or other elements. The second factor is linked with thermal ageing of an active layer. This phenomenon takes place at the temperature of about 800 Celsius degrees and causes burning of components of an active layer. However, the chemical contamination takes place at lower temperature ranging from 400 to 600 Celsius degrees. Liquefing of monolith The liquefying of the main ceramic element takes place at the temperature of more than 1000 Celsius degree. The main reason here is the failure of ignition system which contributes to the fact that fuel is burnt in a catalytic converter rather than in a cylinder. We know from experience that a big number of catalyst converters will break down due to external effects. Elastic jointsWe manufacture the following elastic joints:
